Los <strong>carbohidratos o az\u00facares<\/strong> contenidos en los alimentos pasan al torrente sangu\u00edneo y causan un incremento de los niveles de glucosa en la sangre. Cuando el nivel de glucosa en sangre es alto el p\u00e1ncreas libera insulina. La insulina es una hormona que permite disponer a las c\u00e9lulas del aporte necesario de glucosa para los procesos de s\u00edntesis de energ\u00eda.
